wtf

Reached Paragon at around 11.30pm and there were like hundreds of people in queue!
I was expecting the whole place to be relatively empty, yet a phone released 6 months ago can still be so hyped cos it's launching at Singapore's smallest carrier?

Waited till they opened shop and after seeing that it took them 20mins to process the first order, there's really no point in waiting.
Left empty handed, lost $3 to car park and 1hr to eternity.

got hype?

Can't believe we're doing this: will be heading down to Paragon later for the iPhone midnight launch.

Gotta get the phone by Friday to enjoy the early recontract deal and seems like we won't have time to get it if we don't drop by tonight. (Sharon's working late for the next few days and we'll be in JB on Friday).

Let's hope there won't be any tv crew loitering around!

run to the hills

Haven't felt such a huge sense of achievement in a long long while.
Had doubts over completing in 3 hours before hand, so I'm really surprised (and amazed) at the result.
That's about 4 months of slack training which consisted of almost one run per week where the initial plan was 2-3 runs a week (excuses include bad weather and plain laziness).

After the run, I could barely move my right knee.
Felt like if I strained it any further, something inside is gonna tear right away.
Best of all, while bathing I felt my underarms and the area between my thighs burn! Didn't realise my skin was chaffed that badly until during my bath which was 3 hours later.

In all, I totally enjoyed the run that day.
That is of course excluding the inconsiderate 'runners'. There were people walking in the middle of the path and even couples strolling hand in hand blocking the path of those who went to actually run.
Really cannot understand such mentality.

Contemplating over joining the Adidias Sundown Marathon next year.
Unfortunately, it's just the night before Sharon's birthday and I heard that the running route is not extensive as the Singapore Marathon (minimal road closure and having to run on narrow pavements). Let's see how things pan out.

5 weddings this Weekend...argh..

at my desk in the office now and listening to DJan. survived 4 weddings....1 more to go this evening. I guess my Dear muz be in dreamland now. Wanted to take a nap but with the mountainous paper work that is piling on my desk right now, I guess that is quite impossible. I hate & love working on weekends. The hate part is that I should be enjoying myself doing nothing but shop, eat or game but the love part is i get to clear my work without the phone ringing and the many emails coming from my guests. hmm... i guess you cant have the best of both worlds. Dear, could you please like buy TOTO and win some millions and I can be Tai Tai for a while...wahahahha!

Quote for the Day: The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”

going for the run

managed to wake up!
heading out now..

race pack

Just collected my race pack today and it was way below expectations.
Saw last year they had a decent adidas sports bag (and I heard many goodies) and all they gave this year was a drawstring bag(?!?!) with the usual singlet+bib+race chip plus a granola bar and one small sachet of muscle relief cream.
See for yourself:

Pretty excited over it as it's my first time joining a half marathon (21km).
Prior to training for this, the most I ever ran in 1 session was just 3.5km.

Set myself a target of 3hours. Seems quite impossible for me but I need to do it.
Not to mention that the start of the race day (Sunday, 6th) is a challenge itself.. having to wake up at around 5am!
